A central tenet of our work at AGBS is that art can act as a powerful tool in navigating conversations about race and social justice. Affirming the power of art, writers for the New York Times recently assembled a list of artworks that grapple with racism and civic unrest as a catalyst for civic engagement. Pointing to the work of directors like Ava DuVernay and musicians like Nina Simone, they offer readers a rich well of music, films, paintings, and other works of art that can serve as jumping off points for discussion and education.
