The curators of Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power at the Tate Modern, London composed a playlist of 40 songs to accompany the traveling exhibition. From Marvin Gaye to Alice Coltrane, from Sun Ra to Donny Hathaway, this playlist highlights dozens of legendary Black musicians whose lyrics and music made a great impact on the Black Power Movement.
Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power will be on view at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston from June 27 through August 30, its final stop during a three-year tour.
