In this interview for Rolling Out, Cassidy Sparks asks Nigerian painter, Collins Obijiaku, about his artistic practice. The self-taught painter uses charcoal colors on canvas to document contemporary Black life.

“As a portrait artist, I am more interested in the celebration and documentation of the people that live and connect with me. I like to capture the foundation of their environment using topographic lines.” - Collins Obijiaku
