The work of local arts funding organization, Black Art Matters ATX (BAMATX), is spotlighted in this feature by Michael Lee for Austin’s NPR Station, KUT 90.5. BAMATX is committed to funding Black artists living in Austin and recognizes the importance of financially supporting Black artists as critical to them producing their amazing work. Since the summer, BAMATX has funded at least 7 multidisciplinary artists in fields such as theatre, filmmaking, and more.
