The film industry is notoriously exclusive, and for Black filmmakers, it can be even harder to receive support for their work. Matt Prigge's Filmmaker Magazine article covers the panel discussion from “An Independent Black Filmmaker’s Story: The Journey to Reach Audiences,” which was presented at the 2020 Independent Filmmaker Project's (IFP) week. In the feature, filmmakers give advice about scripts, hunting for funding, and having faith in the creative journey.
