It's an understatement to say that the past few years have taken museums to task for their failure to address the inequities within their operations and museum collection practices. Writers and editors for Barron's magazine Abby Shultz and Mitch Moxley investigated the efforts museums have made to rightfully follow through with their diversity, inclusion, and equity (DEI) initiatives. Looking at various museums, such as the Guggenheim and Hirshhorn Museum And Sculpture Garden, as cases studies, Shultz and Moxley map out how specific museums have succeeded and failed in addressing the concerns of activists and arts professionals who seek real change in the art world.
